What is the Center Line Votes Project?
Center Line has historically had a lower voter turnout than many other communities in Macomb County. The Macomb County League of Women Voters is partnering with Macomb Community College to learn how to help increase voter turnout.
What will the League be doing for this Project?
Activities in 2025
For the rest of 2025 the League and Macomb Community College will be reaching out to Center Line residents in a variety of ways to try and find out why people haven’t voted. We plan to reach out to Center Line residents in a number of ways including:
- Talking directly to people at City events
- Sponsoring listening sessions this summer (day/time/location TBD – watch this space!)
- Through social media
- Talking with local community leaders
Activities in 2026
Once we have completed our survey efforts will be review the results over the winter of 2025-2026. Then in early 2026 we plan to conduct voter education events specifically focused on or addressing the reasons for why people haven’t voted.
How You Can Help
If you are a Center Line resident who hasn’t typically voted we ask that you fill out our quick 3-question survey. The results are anonymous and if you would like to be added to our mailing list please be assured that the League does not share our contact list with anyone. The survey can be accessed by clicking on this link https://s.surveyplanet.com/25ejj4ej
If you know a Center Line resident who hasn’t typically voted, please encourage them to complete our survey.
If you are a community leader in Center Line and would like us to come talk to your group about voting please contact us at centerlinevotes@lwvmacombcounty.org
