About the League of Women Voters
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging the informed and active participation of citizens in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy. We never support or oppose any political party or candidate.
Our Mission
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
What We Do
- Post our Voter Guide information on our website and Vote411.org.
- Provide voter registration information through publications and seminars.
- Conduct or co-sponsoring candidate forums and forums on ballot issues.
- Register new voters.
- Provide voter education and mock elections at the high schools.
- Participate in the Community as poll workers, Board of Canvassers observers, and governmental meeting observers.
Our Roles
The League of Women Voters has two separate but distinct roles
Voter Service/Education
We present unbiased nonpartisan information about elections, the voting process, and issues.
Advocacy
We are also nonpartisan, but, after study, we use our positions to advocate for or against particular policies in the public interest.
